Update from the President

September 12, 2012

CMTax members and friends,

fitz family.jpgMy name is Jim Fitzpatrick and I am your new President of the Costa Mesa Taxpayers Association.

I have lived on the Eastside for a decade with my family.  I am involved in our community.  I have served for three years as a Planning Commissioner and I am currently an elected Board Member of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District (CMSD).

At CMSD I have championed getting a competitive trash contract bid for the first time since World War II.  Over the last 7 years there has been over $30 million in No Bid Trash contracts and a Board that is preventing a competitive trash bid from occurring.

I plan to uphold the Mission Statement of CM Tax and to seek your involvement.

ACTION ALERT GOAL: To motivate members to volunteer time and talent.

What are you good at?  How can you help?

IDEAS:

  • Precinct Walks to inform voters
  • Volunteer
  • Place Yard Signs
  • Donate and Seek Donors
  • Host a Neighborhood Coffee

We are working to get a meeting together and will be endorsing candidates.

What suggestions and ideas do you have?

Quotes
Congressman Dana Rohrabacher

"We need to make sure that money taken from American families in the form of taxation is limited and spent wisely, whether it's local, state or federal, including Costa Mesa."

County Supervisor John Moorlach

“Costa Mesa needs fiscal watchdogs now more than ever.  The City government of Costa Mesa can no longer assume business as usual.  Any assistance from diligent and fiscally responsible residents would be a helpful at this critical time in our city’s history.”
